Week #4: Learning Lots of Spanish, and Ready to go to Paraguay!

What's up Mom!!!!!

So you asked a billion questions and I'm gonna try to answer all of them but if I forget any please let me know haha.

I'll start with stuff from the printed letter that I got :)

The temple was AMAZING!!! The weirdest part was being at the temple, because when we're here at the CCM, literally every person you talk to is a missionary or a former missionary. We had an old guy talk to us at the temple, and it was weird because he wasn't a missionary too. We did use headphones to listen to the endowment and it's weird because the things we hear match up with the video and the Spanish doesn't, obviously. We had to do the veil in Spanish and that was fun. You're totally right about the church being constant everywhere. The temple was identical to the ones in Utah, except all the workers are Mexican and everything is in Spanish. I really hope I get to go to the Paraguay temple. Yes, I got a sweet white tie with some cool black flowers on it. I'm sending it in the group email so watch out for that. I also have a picture of my district at the temple that I'll send in the group email.

Classes are fully in Spanish and have been since day 1 haha. We have to speak Spanish as well and can only speak English when we don't know a word. I think right now I can have a conversation about the Gospel in Spanish and maybe understand about 80% of what the other person is saying, unless it's a native and they speak super fast; then it's about 20% hahaha. The classes are either about Spanish grammar or they're about teaching better as a missionary, and it's usually in Spanglish, but has has been progressively been getting close to pure Spanish these past 2 weeks. We have a bunch of devotionals on Sunday and one on Tuesday, and those are in pure English, which is good so we can understand them. Sacrament is in Spanish as well. Also, I have no idea how the phone card thing works. But if you do send me one through the mail, I'm wondering if it would be at all possible to send me pictures of some of my friends?? Like physical copies. You could take them from my Instagram. If you don't know how to do that or it's not possible, that's totally ok, but if you could, that would be awesome because people want to see more of my friends.

Onto replying to the email!!! That sucks our ward is getting destroyed. I'm not gonna know anyone at my Homecoming hahaha. My week was more or less the same as every other week. I've gotten a lot better at reading my scriptures and actually understanding them. I actually have a strong desire to read them, which is good. I'm currently reading the whole Book of Mormon again and am in 2 Nephi 2 if you were curious. There's a scripture in 2 Nephi 1, and I forgot to bring my scriptures to the computer, so I don't know what verse it is or how it goes exactly, but it's something like "Awake my sons, put on the armor of righteousness. Take off your chains" and something like that. I loved that scripture because it told me to not be scared to do hard things, and I can do this mission :).

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH YOU GOT A CAVITY. I think it's quite funny that you have to get a crown ahhahahaa. But hey! Now you know you don't have cancer, right???

We don't have flight information at all yet, but I'm sure we will get it soon. I know we leave either the Monday or Tuesday right after General Conference, so we'll get to watch it in the CCM. The mission president claims that it's one of the best experiences ever to watch General Conference at an MTC so it should be good hahaha.

Thanks so much for you prayers!! I'm doing great. Love you so much!!!

What's up guys!

I'm officially 1/24 done with my mission hahaha. I decided to start writing individual people and responding first so these group emails may be a little shorter. I try to respond to everybody so if you ever want to write to me, I love reading them and replying :).

So a week ago(right after I sent the last email) I had the opportunity to go to the Mexico Temple! It was great being outside of the MTC and actually getting to see Mexico a little bit. It was a really cool experience. There was this little shop right by the Temple, and I got a dope tie there.

In our casa there's 5 rooms and 3 of them have our district in them, but this week the other 2 rooms got filled with new Latino missionaries. They all know a little bit of English and it's super fun because we're all trying to improve our Spanish and they're trying to improve their English. I forgot to get any pictures with any of them but I'll make sure to get some next week. Me and Elder Sapp love magic tricks, and I brought a deck of cards and it's the funnest thing showing them to them hahaha. They freak out!! They're all super nice. One of their names is Elder Hernandez and he traded a couple ties with me and my companion Elder Frost.

Other than those things that have happened, everything is pretty much the same every day hahaha. I have one more P day before I'm out in Paraguay, so if you have any picture requests or anything, please let me know. I have no idea what to take pictures of, that's why I'm asking lol.

Thanks so much for all of your prayers. I hope you all have a great week :).

So we're not supposed to take pictures unless it's our P day, and we were way too lazy to put on our white shirts and pants and stuff to take pictures so these are just taken in our P day clothes haha.

Heaven help this kid's English, deteriorating right before my eyes. You'd think he was learning Spanish or something.
