Boolin' it up!
Mom!!! That conversion story is so awesome!! It made me tear up a little bit hahaha. We actually had something very similar happen with a girl named Pamela like a month ago. We had 3 really good lessons and then she completely dropped us because her church didn't want her to talk to us. She has a Book of Mormon now though and I always hope that someday she realized it's true. But thanks so much for sending me that! That's awesome!
Also thank you SO MUCH for photos. They all sent successfully. Elder Gutierrez's family always sends him a bunch of pictures every week so I felt like I was missing out hahahaha. I save them all on a flashdrive and we have a little DVD player at the house we can look at them on.
Oh just a little about Elder Gutierrez, just because I feel like I haven't told you a ton.... He's AWESOME. We get along super well and he's awesome. He was baptized 2 years ago which I think is so crazy. He's out here in Paraguay right now!! But yeah, we've got along great and the last 2 weeks have zoomed by.
Graciela is doing super good but she was SUPER lame and didn't go to church yesterday. She said she had to go to our niece's birthday or something. And then we went with one of our members and a car and tried to pick up Junior and HE WAS SLEEPING. AFTER he committed to going!!! Right now we're also teaching this dude Jose (I think I sent pictures with him a couple times). He's been taught most of the lessons and likes the church a lot and has a lot of member friends.
There was a TON of people at church yesterday. Around 80. A lot of menos activos members showed up as well and it was awesome. About a month ago, me and Elder Guerrero found this girl who was baptized a year ago but has been super inactive and now she's fully active again. She even made us this drink called cocido. It's kinda like a weird tea. It's super good though! I forgot to take a picture, oops.
But yeah, everything is going SUPER good here, so don't worry about me haha. Thanks so much mom! Love you so much! Have a good week.\
Elder Erichsen :)
Hola capos,
Wow has it really been a week already?? We're already on week 20 guys! That means you only have to read like 80something more emails from me!
This week has been pretty tranquilo. No mucho happened ha. We talked to a TOOOON of people this week week and literally like nobody wanted to talk to us. We have about 5 new people to teach this week and the goal is always 20, sooo. But other than that it's been pretty good. Me and Elder Gutierrez have just been boolin´it up, the usual. He has a girlfriend in the United States and I think he's gonna get Dear John'd so I'll have to help him recover this week haha.
We've been having trouble getting people to church these past 2 weeks. Yesterday we got our investigator Junior to commit to going to church, and we even had a member with us to bring him in a car. We get to his house and call him 5 times and knock and clap at the door like crazy and NO ONE SHOWED UP. So that kinda sucked. But it's all good.
One thing that I think is super faunny that they say in Spanish is ¨NO HAY NADIE!!¨ People always say that when we're clapping at their doors, and it directly translates to ¨no one's home¨ which is kinda dumb because obviously they're home lol.
But yeah, sorry not much exciting happened this week. A lot of people we've been teaching have just been not keeping their commitments
. This week we have zone conference, and Elder Gutierrez is hitting 6 months in the mission and is gonna burn one of his ties, so that's exciting lol.
Pero eso no mà s. HOpe you all have a bomb week. Church is true.
