Transfers!
So we finally got the deets about transfers and unfortunately Elder Gomes is dippin out. We've had a super tough last 6 weeks. Almost nobody wanted to listen to us and it has been suuuper hot. We've visited a TON of inactive members to find out that at least half of them have moved and the other half don't want ANYTHING to do with the church. That all being said, it's been an awesome transfer. I've learned a ton about the Gospel, people, Paraguay, Spanish, heck, even Portuguese! God really answered our prayers when we were trying to get the baptism form signed from Ezequiel's dad, but showed us that he wasn't ready for baptism quite yet. I've really grown to love all of the members and the branch here. I definitely feel super ready to guide this area to a new missionary and I'm CONFIDENT that we will find some success this next transfer. I've been praying so hard the last few days that we can find at least ONE person who will progress and want to be baptized. And I really feel like it's going to happen, but even if it doesn't, I'll know that I tried my best.
My new companion's name is Elder Quinde. He's from Peru and has a little more time than me on the mission (like 2 months). He's 22 and we're gonna slay Obrero. On June 30th, all the missionaries that are in Zone 1(my current zone) will be switching to the North Mission. President Hansen told me that for sure I'm not going to the North Mission, so I was pretty happy about that. However, he told me that Elder Quinde will be going, so I need to show him a lot of love.
We're not really teaching anyone right now, but we're gonna find some awesome prepared people this week to teach and I'll have stories next Monday.
I love all of you and hope you all have a BOMB week. Chauuuuuuuuuu.
P1 - Our district leader (Elder Gutierrez) was super sick during district meeting, so he didn't attend. So this is the rest of the district. Elder Hincapie, Elder Sanchez, and Elder Gomes.
P2 - We've started seeing a lot of these signs on people's doors. We clap at their door anyways.
P3 - A lot of the active member families that give us lunch don't have husbands, or their husbands aren't home. So a lot of times we have to eat outside their house. We can't go inside anyone's house without a guy who's 18 or older. This was pasta with chicken with some sweet potatoes and natural orange juice.
