Salvation: only thing that's on my mind
Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee eeeeyyyyyyyy everyone,
I hope you all had a fanTASTIC General Conference because I sure did. It was amazing! Not only did we get to hear from a living prophet and hear from his 12 apostles, but we didn't have to do ANYTHING the last 2 days
. Way better than Christmas. But no, it really was awesome though. I felt that the main theme among the talks was keeping our covenants that we've made with our Heavenly Father. I have such a great oppurtunity right now to be inviting people all day every day to go to church and to make those covenants through ordinances like baptism and I feel so blessed to have that calling.
Besides General Conference, we had another really great week. That's right! 2 good weeks in a row! It's crazy! We found a lot of new great people to teach and I really feel like I'm helping Obrero grow. We had 2 of our investigators come to the last session of General Conference yesterday so that was sweet. Carlos and Ruby Rodriguez are they're names and they're awesome. Our last lesson they both told us that they think the church is true, but think it's just hard to change the religion (Catholic) they've been going to their whole lives which is understandable. Our goal this week is to give them a baptism date for the 4th of May, so pray that they'll feel the desire in their hearts to be baptized.
I had 2 divisions this week, so the week went by super fast. I stayed here in Obrero with Elder Winward who's in Republicano right now and that was awesome. He only has like 3 months on the mission so it was super weird because I had to do like everything because still learning spanish, but we had a successful day. Then I went to Amambay which is where our Zone Leaders are and Amambay is sweet. I learned a lot about finding people with Elder Davis and they're teaching a lot of really cool people.
This next week I have another divisions and I'm going to Republicano with Elder Gutierrez so I'm excited for that. We also have zone conference on Thursday so this week will be pretty lit.
OH! Totally forgot to mention that we have TWO AREAS NOW. I have no idea why, but our mission president pulled the Elders of Sajonia out and gave us Sajonia, so that's pretty cool. We're told that we're supposed to still focus our time in Obrero, but they were teaching one girl who was progressing and we've been visiting her and she's awesome! Her name's Carmen and we're visiting her more this week. If we actually end of baptizing her it's gonna be super hard because we don't know ANYONE in Sajonia, let alone the area, but we'll see how it goes
.
But that's all I got for this week! If you didn't get the chance to watch any of General Conference I would invite you to watch at least a few of the talks. My personal favorites were both the talks from the Prophet Russel M. Nelson (Priesthood Session and Sunday Morning Session), Dallin H. Oaks (Sunday Afternoon Session), and Jeffrey R. Holland (Saturday Afternoon.....I think). I know that we have a living prophet today with 12 apostles who are here to guide us. I also know that the Book of Mormon is true and that you can find peace through reading it and find an answer to any question you have through reading it. I just read Mosiah 2 the other day (IN SPANISH WOOT WOOT) and it talked a lot about keeping covenants, just like General Conference.
Hope you all have a great week!
P1 - Both the Elders on the left were the Elders of Sajonia (Elder Sanchez and Elder Hincapie) and they're super capo and I'll miss em like crazy. So now our district is just me, Elder Quinde, Elder Gutierrez, and Elder Winward. Super small!
P2 - We went to Sajonia and we went all the way down to the river. I'm pretty sure the land on the other side is another country, like Argentina or something? I don't know.
P3 - Sweater weather! It was SO cold Friday.
P4 - Divisiones with my main man Elder Davis in Sajonia.
