"I used the crocs!"
Yoooooooooooooooo, you saw that first picture! We baptized!
Wooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo ooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!! !

We FINALLY got his dad's permission to get baptized after many days of praying with faith. So normally you're supposed to have the permission signed and everything ready a week before the baptism, but we were suuuuper pushing it this week. They committed to get his dad's permission last Sunday and have everything ready on Tuesday and we went to visit them on Tuesday and guess what happened? They didn't have it. I guess Roberto's dad is super lame and really didn't wanna give him permission because he thinks he's cool or something. So we prayed for Roberto and his dad sooo much this week, always hoping that Roberto's dad's corazon would be touched. We went to visit them last Thursday, having so much faith that they would say they have a picture with his signature, and to our despair there wasn't one. We began talking about how there's nothing we can do if we don't have that signature and how he couldn't be baptized this Saturday, but only a few minutes into the lesson, Roberto got a text with the authorization of his Dad. It really was a miracle. We had to plan everything super last minute because we didn't know if it was gonna happen this Saturday, but in the end he got baptized last Saturday and a ton of people showed up! He asked me to baptize him and I happily said yes. The water was FREEEEZZINNNGG and I had to baptize him twice because his foot poked out the first time, so he wasn't too happy about that. But hey, now he's got a fun story to tell about his baptism :). He was confirmed yesterday and we're planning his interview with the Branch President next week to get the Aaronic Priesthood. WOooOo!!!
So basically that was the most exciting thing that happened this week. We were so focused on that baptism the last 2 days that we didn't have a ton of time to do too much else. We still ended up contacting 100 people this week and 3 people we're teaching attended church. We also have 2 people with a baptism date. One of them is named Monse and she's 11 and she's awesome. She's super ready to be baptized and has all the lessons, but of COURSE we're waiting on permission. Her situation is a little weird because she lives with her older sister and they don't have contact with they're parents to give her permission. We TECHNICALLY only need permission of her dad, BUT we can't even get that. We're talking to our Mission President this week so I need you all to pray that he gives us permission to baptize her.
The other one is named Ana Paula and she's AWESOME. She's progressing really well and keeping her commitments. We walked with her to Church yesterday and it was pretty rad. She accepted a baptism date for June 8th, but of COURSE there's a problem. She lives with her boyfriend and they have a kid together and don't wanna get married. So she's basically like how 80% of Paraguay is :))). So I ALSO need ya'll to pray that she has the desire to marry this dude or to live apart from him. THANKS!!!
I will sincerely tell you all that I have prayed for a Taco Bell to open here, and it still hasn't happened. So I guess I need to learn about patience? Not sure....
That's all I pretty much gotsies for this week. So I hope you all have a bombtastic week. Hope you all go to church this week because if you don't you're lame. And if you go to a church that's not the Church of Jesus Christ you're even more lame. Ya know I've been reading the New Testament a ton lately and it's been super interesting. Like legit everything the Apostles did back in the day.....WE DO IN OUR CHURCH. Gift of the Holy Ghost through laying on of hands, baptizing being immersed in water and being old enough to know what you're doing, giving blessings with consecrated oil, and sending out really good lookin missionaries like Elder Erichsen. NO WONDER our church is true! It's wild. So make good choices. Keep the commandments. Be Christlike. Don't worship the virgin. And send me Flamin Hot Cheetos. THANKS HAVE A GOOD WEEK!
Elder Erichsen
