Hey, I have fotos this time!
Wooooooooooooooooooooooowwwwww w has it really been a week aleady??? I swear I was just typing up on of these dumb emails yesterday. This week went by craaaaaazy fast. I had divisions with my district, zone conference, divisions with my zone leaders, and 10 baptisms!!.....just kidding...but that would be pretty sweet. But it was a pretty great week if I do say so myself.
So firstly, I went on divisions with the other area in my district, Paso Yobai. So for any of you who don't know much about the Paraguay Asunción Misión(and I know there's a few), Paso Yobai is the only area that has bikes. The area is suuuuuuper grande, so the Elders have bikes to get around everywhere faster. So your boi got to ride a bike! And for those of you who don't know, a lot of streets in Paso Yobai are very rocky roads, so all I can say is that I was very sore the next day. But other than that, it was aweesome! I got to be with Elder Santana (my companion 3 changes ago) and that was really fun. It's weird thinking that when we were companions I only had like 8 months on the mission, but now I'm here with almost 13. Crazy.
Zone conference was amazing as always. If any of you know me, you know I hate making goals and planning, and whatdyaknow, zone conference was all about making goals and planning. But it was pretty great! I learned a lot about why we need goals to improve our lives, especially as missionaries. I also got to see some people from my group. I haven't seen Elder Smith since the prophet came 10 months ago, so that was really nice.
Finally we had divisions with our zone leaders in Coronel Oviedo and that was fun. I went out with Elder Moore and he's just a goober. Good times.
But anyways, here in Villarrica things are pretty slow, not gonna lie. All of the people the old elders were teaching just kinda disappeared. So we're basically starting from scratch. BUT, we did print a member list 2 days ago and we're planning on finding and visiting ALL of them and bringing all of the less actives back to church and baptizing their 9 year olds (aww yeah). We just got a new branch president who's AWESOME so we're super excited for Villarrica. We have an attendance of about 50, and we made goals to bring that number to 150. It's gonna be wild.
Have I ever mentioned how PRETTY Villarrica is? Hopefully that first picture sent above, but there's just a ton of trees everywhere. There's also WAAAAYY less trash than there's been in any of my other areas, so everything is really clean. The people are all still really Catholic, but everyone is super nice. I love it here.
Also, have I ever mentioned how I'm a little tired of having the exact same flipping conversations every single day?? I swear, with EVERY single person we talk to, we sí o sí talk about at least 3 things: weather, how dangerous Paraguay is at night, and why my companion and I have the same name. Like...EVERY TIME. Luckily my companion only has 2 months in Paraguay and needs to practice his Spanish so he talks to everyone about these things
. But man, it gets repetetive hahaha. But if I saw 2 white americans knocking on my door in Paraguay, I'd probably ask them the same thing.
THat's pretty much it for this week. I hope ya'll have a great week. General Conference is in like 2 weeks (woot woot). I'm pretty excited for that. I have an American companion and I'm delighted to announce that I will be watching it in English (and yes, I am pretty darn excited.) I invite you all to make time to watch it as well has prepare with some inspired questions. I already have a few written down, such as "When will I be able to listen to Taylor Swift's new album?" and "Why does Mountain Dew Baja Blast not exist here?" HAVE A GREAT WEEK!!!
