Conference, Empanada Day, We're Beautiful
Wowowowowowowo did ya'll watch conference? WOWOWOWOWO!!!!!!!! If any of you didn't, I'll sum it all up real fast. Young Men leaders are goneso, young womens is super changed, temple recommend interview questions changed, 8 temples announced, little 8 year old girls can now be witnesses at baptisms, and oh my goodness so many other amazing things. But guess what? It's still the Church of Jesus Christ, and it's the only true church on Earth. All of these changes were made to help us come closer to Christ and it's awesome. I kinda like to think of it as Minecraft. You play Minecraft and it's awesome, but maybe you stop playing for like 2 or 3 years. It gets updated a bunch and you go back and everything is different. But, it's still Minecraft. That's basically the Church. There's been so many changes and stuff, but it's STILL the Church of Jesus Christ, the church he established almost 2000 years ago. Isn't it awesome?
I could talk about conference for this whole email, but I just wanna say how awesome it is to have a LIVING PROPHET on the Earth. RUSSEL M. NELSON TALKS TO GOD. Isn't it amazing???? The majority of the talks were about staying on the 'covenant path' and keeping the commandments throughout our lives, so the second coming must be happening pretty soon or something ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. I would say it's pretty hard to pick a favorite talk, but I really loved Uchtdorf's and Holland's. HOLD ON TO THE IRON ROD. PERSEVERAR HASTA EL FIN. That's what I got out of conference.
Our week was mostly occupied by all of the hype for conference, but all is well in Villarrica. This lawyer we're teaching named Fabiana actually went to the Saturday Afternoon session. The first investigator that's been to church the past month, so that was awesome. We literally put our goal as 1 person en reunión, so we were super excited to see her there. She's one of those people who has a LOT of questions about everything, so our visit with her this Thursday will be pretty exciting. She attended the session with the sustaining of the prophet and apostles as well as the announcement to the changes of Young Mens. That'll be exciting. We'll have to see if she accepts a baptism date.
In 2 days it'll be my one year mark in Paraguay. I remember getting here almost exactly one year having no idea what I was doing. It appears that not much has changed, but we're hanging in there. They're changing the transfer days, so I'll actually be getting home a little earlier about August 6th, which means I have less that 10 months left, which is pretty darn crazy. I just remember my whole first transfer following my trainer having no CLUE what i was doing and didn't know jack-diddly of spanish, but here I am, still más o menos knowing spanish training another gringo from Utah. Craziness. Que locura.
Well, I hope you all had a fantastic conference. If you didn't get to watch any of the sessions, I would HIGHLY encourage you to do so. I would also recommend watching them in ENGLISH because it is VERY hard to understand in Spanish and it's just not as good
. I'm pretty sure the second coming is happening next conference or women are getting the priesthood, so ya'll should prepare yourselves. HOPE YOU HAVE A GREAT WEEK! CHURCH IS TRUE.
p1 - Follow my parents' tradition of buying a TON of snacks for conference sí sí
p2 - A member gave us these face masks to make ourselves beautiful. You can catch me on Miss Paraguay next year.
p3 - Friday was apparantly "Empanada Day", so this member made us this flipping HUUUGGGGEEE empanada man. Do you see that thing??' It's bigger than my whole face!!! I can proudly say that I ate all of it. Yes. I weigh the exact same as I did when I came here.
