The heck man??
So I bet most of you were thinking, "Wow, I stopped getting emails from Elder Erichsen...FINALLY!" But hahahah jokes on you, I had to go to Asunción yesterday, so here I am writing on TUESDAY. Get ready for the worst email of your LIFE.
This week we trabajared sooooooooo muuuchhhhh. Like we definitely put our shoulders to the wheel. But you know what happened!? Nobody went to church! What the heck!! We had 4 people sign a COMMITMENT paper to go to church and they just didn't go man. I don't know que pasa. PERO, we did find an AWESOME family that accepted a baptismal date for the 30th of November. It's a mom and she has 2 kids who are 21 and 25 (most people here live with their parents until their parents die). They're all super cool. We visited them with a member and it was great.
I've just recently realized how IMPORTANT the Libro de Mormon is. Like there's almost no point in teaching anybody more of the lessons until they have a testimony of the Book of Mormon first. We gave this family their own Book of Mormon and invited them to read and came back and they didn't read, so we just read 1 Nefi 1 with them and they understood it well and now understand why they need to read and pray to know if it's true. So we'll keep going over the Book of Mormon until they get the hang of it. Probably the best book ever written guys, just saying. Like legit if you just READ the Book of Mormon every day, your life is so much easier. JUST DO IT!
Fun story of the week: So once upon a time, I was on divisions with my main man Elder Da Matta. He's from Argentina and he's super cool and knows English. So we were just clapping at houses, and we clap at this one and this lady lets us sit down on her patio. We wait for like 2 minutes and then this old 50ish year old guys comes out and is like "Venid a mi casa de oración" (come to my prayer house), and we thought it was just a little funny and he was joking around or something, idk. But anyways, we follow this guy into his little shed in his backyard and you won't believe it.....there was a little church in his backyard. There was a pedestal and a bunch of plastic chairs and hymn books and everything. He was like "Vamos a sing a song!" And we sang this song from this book and I kid you not it was a TWENTY MINUTE LONG SONG! Yeah, that's longer than "The Spirit of God" TWICE. It was crazy. Then we preceded to tell us about Jesus and how we need to follow him. All I can say, is that I am glad I'm in the true church.
Anyways, totally don't have my camera with me, so rip photos for this week. But don't ya'll worry, next week will just be legendary. But as of right now, that's pretty much all que you tengo por ESTA semana. Hope you all have a beautiful COLD week. It's still hot like crazy here. LOVE YOU ALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL!!
