People went to church!
Yeah that's right, you READ that email right. We got some PEEOPLELEE IN CHURRCHH WOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! For the first time in forever, am I right? SO MANY PEOPLE WENT TO CHURCH YESTERDAY. We had around 70 people go, which is quite a bit higher than our normal 40-50. It was pretty fantastic.
So first of all, we get to church at 8:45 right. And despues que pasa, this mom and daughter are there that we've never met before. The mom is like, "Hey, my name is Blasita. This is my daughter. She wants to get baptized." I'd like to go ahead and say that this is the 3rd time that a miracle like this has happened on my mission. I'm pretty grateful. The mom is actually a non member as well and her husband is less active. We will be inviting BOTH of them to baptism on Monday. Wish us luck.
So yeah, I guess you could say we had a pretty good week. This other guy we're teaching named Rodolfo is AWESOME. We visited him and was like "Hey guys. Ya know, I've been reading the Book of Mormon and studying the pamphlets you've given me....and I know that everything you've taught is true. I know Joseph Smith was a prophet and that your guys's church is true." YEAH! LIKE PRETTTY MUCH THOSE EXACT WORDS. WOOOOOOOOOOOO. He wants to get baptized but just has to snapping go to church. Hopefull we'll see some progress this Sunday.
We found some cool families this week. I mean we kinda find a LOT of cool families, and then they just kinda disappear. So vamos a ver. PERO, yo tengo fe.
OK GUYS ARE YOU READY FOR THE WORST THING I'VE HEARD ON MY WHOLE MISSION??? We get announcements from the mission in our emails every week and I just got the WORST ANNOUNCEMENT. "We do not say 'fetch, freak, frick.' We do not use slang such as 'bro, dude, man.'" WHAT THE HECK AM I SUPPOSED TO SAY NOW??? I USE FREAK AND DUDE IN ALMOST EVERY SINGLE SENTENCE. But I guess we're supposed to be more Christlike and disciples, so I guess I'll just have to perseverar hasta el fin(Agosto 6th :P).
Pero MUCHAS GRACIAS por todos sus oraciones. We're FINALLY starting to see some stuff happen here in Villarrica and I'm super pumped. I'll most likely be leaving this area January 7th, so we should see some baptisms before then, but even if we don't it's all tranquilopa. Also for a quick spiritual thought, can I just say that we are pretty darn BLESSED in these latter days. I've been reading some stories about some of the people in the Book of Mormon and WOW they had it rough guys. My man Abinadi was just preaching the gospel and he got PUT TO DEATH. What the heck? Pretty thankful that I don't have to die for the Gospel. So if you ever have a rough day, just think about how hard it was for the prophets and followers of Christ in the day. Life is easy.
HAVE A GREAT WEEK, LOVE YOU ALL.
