Week #4: Learning Lots of Spanish, and Ready to go to Paraguay!

Image
What's up Mom!!!!! So you asked a billion questions and I'm gonna try to answer all of them but if I forget any please let me know haha. I'll start with stuff from the printed letter that I got :) The temple was AMAZING!!! The weirdest part was being at the temple, because when we're here at the CCM, literally every person you talk to is a missionary or a former missionary. We had an old guy talk to us at the temple, and it was weird because he wasn't a missionary too. We did use headphones to listen to the endowment and it's weird because the things we hear match up with the video and the Spanish doesn't, obviously. We had to do the veil in Spanish and that was fun. You're totally right about the church being constant everywhere. The temple was identical to the ones in Utah, except all the workers are Mexican and everything is in Spanish. I really hope I get to go to the Paraguay temple. Yes, I got a s...

Week #3: Halfway done!

Wassup guys!!! So this email is a little earlier because we are going to the temple in a little over an hour from now. I am SO excited. Not only because the temple will be cool and all, but I'm gonna get a new sick tie hahaha. Two nights ago, Elder Frost's stomach was feeling really sick, and he was up all night throwing up like crazy, unfortunately. He woke us all up (Elder Robinson and Elder Sapp are in the same room as us) at 1:30 am and asked for a Priesthood blessing. We had Elder Sapp anoint the oil, and then I gave him a blessing. It was super scary because I had never done a blessing before, and I said a quick prayer right before to ask God to give me help in knowing what to say. It was only about a 45-second blessing, but I think it helped him a lot. He was able to sleep the rest of the night, but still felt sick in the morning. We went to the infirmary, and they told us to just relax and gave him some medicine. The cool thing is that the doctor said ...

Week 2 in the CCM: Wants music and soda!

Image
Whatsup Mom!!! This week went by 1000x faster than the first luckily. It's so weird how true the phrase "Days feel like weeks and weeks feel like days" actually is hahaha. Still have plenty of food and living. I don't know if you or Shulamith has sent me 2 packages, but one thing they don't have at the store is soda and getting that Dr. Pepper was one of the greatest things I've gotten here; so if you want to send me more of those that would be fantastic hahahaha. The weather here is FANTASTIC! It's raining like pretty much every day and it's not hot... I love it. None of my district went to choir practice so we all kind of made it. We only play it on P day and Sunday though because we're too busy with spanish stuff every other day. Also! I don't have a ton of music on my mp3 player and I'm pretty sure you can send me mp3 files through an email and I should be able to transfer them, so if you have any extra time ...

One week down; he's doing great!

Two emails arrived today! I was physically ill this morning waiting for them, but I'm a happy, relieved mama now. Here they are: Hey Mom! I'm feeling fantastic! This week had definitely been exTREMELY long. I can strongly say that this has been the longest week of my entire life. Just the first day alone felt like a month. But it's really fantastic! Not to sound cliche or anything, but I have never felt the spirit so strong in my life. Yes, I'm as healthy as can be haha. The food here is all extremely mediocre. It all tastes the same if that makes sense hahaha. Elder Frost is the best. We're really really similar haha. We have like the same hair and the same eyes and a lot of similar interests and personalities lol. I've heard some people have an opportunity to switch with a Latino companion half way through to help their Spanish, but I think that's kind of rare....so yes, we should be companions the next 5 weeks :).  I have he...

The first email...the day he arrived at the Mexico CCM!

Hey Mom!    Yes, I survived! The flight was long and super boring considering we can't watch any movies or anything on the plane or play on our electronics we don't have haha. I slept probably an hour total because I was so tired. My companion is actually Elder Frost hahaha. I haven't met him yet though, but I believe that's the next thing I do after this email. I don't have a ton of time so I'm typing super fast on this weird keyboard in Mexico haha. I have been informed that the illness is gone but over 400 kids were in the infirmary at one point...yikes! But I still hear the food is bad, so I will definitely eat the food I packed. My P day is Wednesday here, but I'm not sending an email tomorrow. So after tomorrow, every single Wednesday. Thanks so much for helping me on my mission, I love you tons and I know it's gonna be great here I can already feel it. Love you!!
