BAUUUUUUTTTTTIIIIIIIZZZZZZLLLL AAANNNNNDDDIAAAAA!!! woot woot.
Monserrath got baptized!!! The baptism really was a miracle. Me and Elder Santana prayed so much to get that permission. He had the oportunidad to baptize her Saturday and I had the oportunidad to confirm her yesterday. We went into church yesterday and the branch president asked if one of us could do the confirmation and Elder Santana looks at me and sayd "haga" (do it) and it was awesome.
Besides the baptism, I'm gonna be completely honest and tell ya'll that this week was ROUUUGGHHH. We got rejected by people left and right and we were just super busy all week. Usually we have a Weekly Planning every Thursday, but we had to postpone it to Sunday because we were so busy with stuff. Almost every day we got back home at 9:30 and went to bed at 9:45 because we were so tired. BUT, we had a baptism so I really can't complain.
I'm just gonna share a few of the crazy Evangelic people stories we had thsi week. On Friday we were out contacting because all of our plans fell through. We found this one dude sitting outside is house drinkin tereré. We said "hola hermano!!! Somos misioneros de la Iglesia de Jesucristo!" And he immediately told us to come talk to him. Usually when this happens, the person is either someone God has prepared to be taught, or they're getting ready to roast us. You can probably tell what happens next... We sat down and this guy I kid you not talked for 45 minutes straight without catching his breath about random facts about the Bible. He was telling us how we need to be baptized in only the name of Jesus because being baptized in the name of God, Jesus, and the Holy Ghost is part of the Catholic church, so that makes it incorrect and how the United States is gonna go to war with Russia to make Babylon become the second coming of Christ and just a bunch of weird stuff that didn't make sense
.
Then we found this other guy, actually right after we had Monse's baptism. We clapped at this guys house and this dude comes out and we greet him as usual. He says "You guys are Mormons right??" We(like ballers) say "No, those are others. We're from the Church of Jesus Christ!" He says "No no no, you guys are MORMONS. You believe in stuff with Joseph Smith and the Iluminati. "(Legit he said this). "You guys are liars! You teach lies! False doctrine!" I just said "good luck!" and was ready to leave, but Elder Santana politely said, "Sir, we're sorry if we disrupted your night or said something rude." This guy was SO mad
. He was like "You guys need to leave. Get out of my yard! You can walk in the street but don't ever come to this house again!" I'm pretty used to getting rejected like that because all of my mission I've been in the city and it's like this all the time there, but this was like one of the first times Elder Santana's been super rejected, so it was rought for him. When we left we said a prayer to help the Evangelic dude be forgiven for his sins that someday he'll learn the truth and it was awesome. I learned a ton about charity.
We're entering the last week of the transfer and it's more than likely that Elder Santana is dippin and I have to guide this area. I'm kinda hoping I train, but obviously I don't get to decide anything.
That's pretty much it for this week! My spiritual thought this week is to work on charity. I've learned a ton about charity this week, as well as all of my mission. We're all sons and daughters of God, so we should all be treated the way we want to be treated. Have the love, that Christ had for us, for others. I promise if you do that, you'll receive blessings and be suuuuuper happy
. Hope you all have a great week!!!
Romans 13:11-14
11 And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed.
12 The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light.
13 Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying.
14 But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof.
p1 - BAUUTTIISSSMOOOOOOOOOO
p2 - Aracy (the girl) is a recent convert that Elder Santana and Elder Deere baptized. We celebrated her birthday :)
p3 - You can't see it really well, but we eat this like every other day. It's popcorn with condensed milk, which is basically like this sugar caramel stuff. It's pretty darn amazing.
p4 - OK. So a few days ago we were running a little late to get home. We have to get home at 9:30 SÍ O SÍ, and it was about 9:00 and we were about 40-45 minutes away from home. Now this isn't the first time this has happend, but usually we have to run a little bit to get back in time
. I'm stupid and totally tripped running and totally ripped my pants
. BUT, I guess the hermana and cleans our clothes can sew them back together, so hopefully that works and I can still use them hahaha
Then a quick note to me because we didn't get to talk today:
Hey mom!!
Just wanted to tell you how my week was :). We baptized Monse and it was awesome!! I was so scared to confirm her because I didn't know what to say, but I found all the stuff in the mission handbook and totally confirmed her and it was awesome. Besides that the rest of the week was super tough. We talked to a lot of people and just found like no quality people. We only have 2 people we're teaching right now that have potention and that's about it. But we're really planning on inviting people to get baptized this week and finding some success! It feels soooooo crazy that I've already been here for 9 months already, isn't it nuts??? I'm also turning 19 on Friday, which is even crazier. It's even CRAZIER that i'm gonna be here all of my 19 year old life hahahaha. But lately I've just been super happy in the mission. I love teaching about the Gospel and studying it. I've been reading your favorite book Gospel Principles lately and I love it. I'm also in 1 Corinthians in the Bible and I love it. I also just finshed ALma 20 in Spanish and it's awesome. I think I can fluently read the Book of Mormon now in Spanish and that makes me happy.
I'm really excited for this next transfer!!! I'll tell you who my next companion next week and I'm super excited!!! Hope you have a great week mom! Love you!!!!
