Baitosmo in a Swimming Pool

WHaaaaaaaaatttttttt isss upp frieenddsss and amiiggoosss. If you are reading that title right, you know that we HAD A BAPTISM IN VILLARRICA WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It took 4 months(well technically the last baptism was in June, so really 6 months) but we finally did it! WOOOOOO!!!! LETS GOOOOOOO. Wow it's crazy how fast the time here in Villarrica has flew by. I'm not sure if it's because I've had really awesome companions or if I hit a year on the mission. But either way it's been great.
So I'm just gonna briefly cover how HARD it was to get this baptism to happen. So if any of ya'll did NOT know already (But you should because you read ALL of my emails and LOVE them), we have been renting this apartment place for the church because they have been re-doing the floor. So we've been in this lame apartment building my WHOLE time in Villarrica. That also means that there is NO BAPTISMAL FONT. So we were stuck LOOKING for something to baptize in. Luckily one of the members has a pool, so we ended up using that. Now, I am VERY grateful that were able to find a pool, but OOH MMYY GOODDNESSS I HAATTTEEE THAATT POOOLL. It's super basura. We spent SOOO much time filling it up,  and it like the water wouldn't go high enough and it was all just a big mess. Then, we were filling up the day of the baptism, and guess what? We run out of water! And guess what what?? IT STARTED RAINING! When we started the baptism, it was Elder Smith, Elder Rodrigues, me, Arminda and her family, and 2 members. That's right. 2 members. A member of the branch presidency wasn't even there. A member without a calling presided ðŸ˜‚. But as soon as we went outside for the ordinance, the rain stopped and it was awesome. Elder Smith ended up baptizing her 4 times because the water was so low and she basically had to LAY DOWN in the water to be immersed, but it was gucci.
Sorry, I know that story was SUPER long and boring. But most important thing is that the Lord wanted Arminda to be baptized. SATAN DID NOT. But through some hard work and prayer, all was well in the end.
Transfers are tomorrow and I am going to La Floresta. It's in Asunción and the area is like super city. I heard there's a soft serve ice cream place close to our house, so that's pretty all I need to make me happy. My companion's name is Elder Cook and he just ended his training. This will be my 3rd companion in a row from Utah, so that's pretty fantastic ðŸ˜‚. I am yet to have a companion who's had a lot more time than me other than my trainer.
I'm DEFINITELY GOING TO MISS VILLARRICA. Yes, this area was super challenging. Yes we worked like crazy and NOTHING happened a LOT of times. Yes it was REALLY HOTTT and sometimes we had to go back to the house just to switch our shirts out because we were sweating so much, BUUUUTT, I had a lot of great companions and made a lot of friends. The Lord even blessed us with a baptism my very last week, that's awesome. I'm sure my next area will be great too though.
Oh, also....HAPPY NEW YEAR WOOOOO IT'S 2020!! Fun fact: I spent EVERY SINGLE DAY OF 2019 IN PARAGUAY. Isn't that crazy? Like literally for 365 days straight I woke up and slept in this country. It's been great though. I'm super grateful to be a missionary and help these Paraguayans, even if it kinda sucks sometimes. Hope that 2020 will be EVEN BETTER! HOPE YOU ALL HAVE A GREAT WEEK AND A GREAT YEAR!
