Paso Yobai Adventure

Image
Wow guys! This might have been the most physically exhausting week of my WHOLE ENTIRE LIFE! I'M SOOO TIIIRRREEEDD RIGHT NOW! If ya'll forgot, I had to come to this area Paso Yobai for a whole week because an Elder went home here for breaking his back or something. So it was pretty wild. I'm gonna make this email a little different then the usual; I'm going to go over every DAY individually because so many things happened.      Monday - I get to Yobai and BAM, just to start off this AMAZING WEEK, I go into the house and there's NO AIR CONDITIONER IN THEIR HOUSE! WHAT THE HECK??? HOW DO THEY SLEEP AT NIGHT? IT'S LIKE 100 DEGREES ALL DAY.      Tuesday - We go do this SERVICE for these members by helping them hoe their ground a little. Then the member DROPS THE CAÑA ON ME and tells me I'm doing it wrong and how all of the gringos don't know how to do anything (lol). Then we had lunch(I've had diahrea every day since I've been here) and went out ...

Merry Christmas!

WOooooooooooooooooooooOOoOoOoo oooOOO it's Christmas guys! Wooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And guess where I'm going for Christmas?? PASSOOO YOOBBAIII! Yeah, you know that area I always talk about where there's bikes and they ride bikes and there's literally nothing there? YES, ELDER ERICHSEN IS GOING TO BE THERE FOR CHRISTMAS. Elder Smith was there last week, pero esta semana me toca a mí. Not gonna lie, not very excited  . But, Elder Da Matta will be my companion and he's pretty cool, so it'll be all good.      Anyways, this week was pretty cool I guess. We had our Christmas Zone conference and that was pretty fun. We played ping pong and we got these dope ties(forgot to take a pic oops) that are white with the picture of the Paraguay Temple that we can wear inside the temple. They're pretty cool. Then Elder Rodrigues got super super sick and we had to stay in for a couple days, so no mucho paso.      Last Monday we made Christmas cards(first photo)...

Things are happening

Yeah you read that right, it's going down here in Villarrica. WE GOT SOMEONE WITH FECHA FOR JANUARY 4TH 2020 WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOO HYYYYYYYPEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE. So you remember last week when I was like "Yo, people went to church." Yeah, the little 10 year old girl named Armina is getting baptized. Her mom wants to get baptized as well but she has to be married with this guy first, so we're actually visiting them this week y vamos a ver que pasa. Elder Smith and I are pretty excited though.      The next of the transfer is actually gonna be pretty crazy. So there are 6 elders in our district. 4 in Villarrica and 2 in Paso Yobai, PERO one of the elders in Yobai is having back problems and he's gonna go to the office and possibly go home, so his companion there needs a friend. So we're taking turns every week for the next 3 weeks to be companions with him. Elder Smith will be heading there today and I guess we'll see who goes next week. It...

People went to church!

Yeah that's right, you READ that email right. We got some PEEOPLELEE IN CHURRCHH WOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! For the first time in forever, am I right? SO MANY PEOPLE WENT TO CHURCH YESTERDAY. We had around 70 people go, which is quite a bit higher than our normal 40-50. It was pretty fantastic.      So first of all, we get to church at 8:45 right. And despues que pasa, this mom and daughter are there that we've never met before. The mom is like, "Hey, my name is Blasita. This is my daughter. She wants to get baptized." I'd like to go ahead and say that this is the 3rd time that a miracle like this has happened on my mission. I'm pretty grateful. The mom is actually a non member as well and her husband is less active. We will be inviting BOTH of them to baptism on Monday. Wish us luck.      So yeah, I guess you could say we had a pretty good week. This other guy we're teaching named Rodolfo is AWESOME. We visited him and was like "Hey guys. Ya kno...

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas

Whaaaaaaaaaaattttttttttttsssss s uuuuuuuuuuupppppppppppppp gggggggguuuuuuuuyyyyyyysssssss sssssssssss. As you can read from the title, we saw a ton of rain these last few days. That means it was also SUUUPERRR humid and hot. It was pretty terrible, not gonna lie. PERO, we found a lot of cool people to teach and we're just pretty tranquilopa here in Villarrica.      Tomorrow is cambios and Elder Smith and I are staying together here for another transfers, so I'm pretty excited for that. We get along really well and it's just been a blast. Like yeah, literally like nothing is happening here right now ( #stillhavefaith), BUT, I'm working with a really good friend now, so it's been fun.      HOWEVER SPEAKING OF CAMBIOS. Elder Jensen will be leaving and I'm PRETTY DARN BUMMED ABOUT THAT. We'll be getting a Brazilian Elder (creo que se llama Elder Rodriguez) and we're a little worried. Like what happens if he's super weird?? Everything will be ru...
