Exchanges this week!

Image
What's up MOM, Allllright, this week was awesome. We had a companionship exchange and I was with Elder Ortega for a day and that was SCARY. I had to know where all of our investigators' homes were haha. That day was quite an adventure. I guess I'll start andswering your billions of questions. 1. I'll attach some pictures. [I asked for pictures of his house and area]. 2. The city is a lot like any other city in Utah. We went down to Elder Sapp and Elder Ortega's area for a companionship exchange and their area is legit like New York City almost, just not huge huge buildings haha. Our area has a grocery store much like a Walmart and that's where we get a lot of our food. Bunches of restaraunts and stuff, idk haha. 3. The church is 2 seperate buildings. One is the chapel and it fairly nice. Of course, no place in Paraguay has carpet, so all hard floors. Then there's another building with a bunch of small classrooms. It's de...

Meeting the Prophet!

Image
Hey Mom!!! I have so many emails to respond to so this one might be a little short hahahaha. YES! The prophet was AMAZING. Yesterday we went to the mission offices where every missionary in our mission was (Theres 162 of us) and that was awesome seeing everyone. Then we had a little devotional about safety and stuff and THEN WE GOT TO SEE THE PROPHET. We got a group picture with all of us and the prophet (and I'm sure I'll get that sooner or later). Then we got to SHAKE HIS HAND. Yes, you heard me right. His wife and also Elder Stevenson and his wife were there as well and we got to shake their hands. They have to be the nicest people I've ever met. It's like you can see Jesus standing beside them. But yeah that was awesome.  Then everyone gave a talk. Stevenson's was about obeying the mission rules and it was really good. And Nelson's was a lot about Preach My Gospel, Eternal families, and the Book of Mormon. He explained a lot about h...

I'm so proud of Seth for caring about apostrophe usage!

Hey Mom!!! So yeah we don{t have a ton of time to email and I have like 25 unread messages right now because I didn{t read any last week haha. Also yes it is really hard to type on this keyboard. I don{t know how to do an apostraphe so we{re doing { for now haha. I{ll answer all your questions in this email and talk more about my experience here in the group email if thats ok haha. Yes! So I{m serving in the Republicano! It{s part of the city (I think!). It{s actually pretty similar to the United States haha. Lots of restaruants and stuff. Everyone here is so friendly!!! We{ll go to a random house and get to know someone and they{ll invite us into their house and we{ll talk and then share a message about the gospel. It{s awesome!! I{ve also had so much food here!! I would say food should be the last of your worries. Elder Guerrero (My companion) told me he{s gained a ton of weight since the beginning of his mission hahaha. So far my favorite food has been asadinto(I...

I am pleased to announce that your son, , arrived safe and sound to the mission Paraguay Asuncion. He has now received a trainer and is working in hard in the mission field. Attached there is a picture of him with President and Sister Hansen as well as a map of his first area. If you have any questions, don´t hesitate to write me at this email. Sincerely, Élder Pedersen Secretario Ejecutivo

He's in Paraguay!!!!

HEY MOM!! So they're giving me a chance to email you right now! I don't have a ton of time, but I will try my best to tell you everything haha. So we got here last night at midnight safely. We all met President and Hermana Hansen at the airport when we arrived and got our visas and everything. Then we packed our bags on a truck and the AP's were there and they drove us to the mission offices. They have a little house right by the mission offices that has 8 beds so all of the Elders slept in there for the night. President Hansen let us sleep in until about 7:30, so that felt good haha. Today we're mostly just doing initiatory stuff like safety and whatnot. Oh my goodness, I am so overwhelmed with how much stuff I have to worry about. I have to worry about rent and a card and speaking Spanish and so many things, it's really scary. I'm praying hard I won't have to worry so much though. We meet our new companions in 2 1/2 hours and most of them a...

One Week Left in CCM: So excited to go to Paraguay!

Image
Hey Mom!   Ooops. So I totally forgot the printed letter you gave me at the house and I'm already here so sorry about that :(. And wow. That's a lot of people. How many Young Men do they have passing the sacrament?? Hahaha. Yup I got all the music so that's good. Thanks so much for that. I got the package of food and Dr. Pepper and thanks a ton for that again :). I also just got a package from Luke today. It was just a note telling me good luck and he sent one of the ties he wore on his mission. It's super fat and kind of ugly, but I'll try to wear it once some day hahahaha. I thought it was so nice of him to send me something and I'll email him right after this. Wow, I can't believe Isaiah is actually doing it. Tell him good luck and to have a good time :) I am PRAYING that those pictures come either tomorrow or Friday. I believe the post office here is closed on Saturday and (obviously) Sunday. We just got a little bit of our ...
